Welcome to the blog of the International Federation of Automatic Control (IFAC)!

Founded in Paris in 1957, IFAC is the worldwide organization tasked with promoting the science and technology of automatic control in all systems, whether for example, engineering, physical, biological, social or economic, in both theory and application. IFAC is also concerned with the impact of control technology on society.

With this blog, IFAC wishes to reach out to a global community and establish a forum for dialog between, on one side, leading experts within the IFAC domain and, on the other side, whoever wishes to participate in the discussion of how IFAC technology is going to shape the future of our societies.

IFAC is organized in a number of Technical Committees (TCs), each with a special focus on a subtopic within the general IFAC domain. Members of the TCs will take turn in writing the entries of this blog. The discussion we hope to stimulate will take place in selected social media, as you will be able to follow from the links provided with each blog entry.

We welcome both contributors from the IFAC Technical Committees and from our global community, hoping for a vast number of mutually inspirational discussions.
